Beneficiaries

Dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and Colorectal Cancer, The Snowflake Ball’s "Venetian Sunset Masquerade" will benefit:

Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) Inflammatory Bowel Disease Centre

Providing the highest level of medical, nutritional, and surgical care at one of Canada’s leading children’s teaching hospitals. The IBD Centre is also a world-leader in IBD (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) research, which is now of vital importance with the recent discovery that Canada has one of the highest rates of IBD affecting young children in the world. Individuals with IBD also have a higher risk of developing colon cancer.

Your very kind support will directly contribute to The Snowflake Ball’s commitment to raising much-needed funds, furthering research, promoting education, and boosting awareness for the 3Cs, Colorectal Cancer, Crohn’s Disease (of which Canada has the highest prevalence in the world!), and Ulcerative Colitis. These three chronic and serious illnesses are not discussed very often, but The Snowflake Ball is changing this.  The Ball is passionate about shining the light on the 3Cs, promoting a better understanding that children and adults living with IBD have a higher risk of developing colon cancer, and advocating the importance of early detection and screening for colon cancer. The Ball provides a forum for these important messages, both at the event itself and throughout the entire year’s campaign.
